February 22,2022 - Putin launches attack on Ukraine.
This was the news that broke this week. Putin has invaded Ukraine under the guise of "freeing it from terrorist control". This has caused alarm across the world and Alaskans are worried. Russia is only approximately 55 miles away from part of Alaska, we are their neighbor and Alaskans are aware of it. As of right now we do not know how this will proceed or what will be the outcome. It's a very interesting time right now to be working in a senate office, we hold so much responsibility to our constituents and country. As of right now I answer a lot of calls from Alaskans wanting to know more about what is going on and being done, it's constantly learning as we go. I personally don't know, but I'm lucky to work with an office that is very proactive and they help and teach me as we learn more.
